WHY SPRING CLEANING?

Many of us use the words "SPRING CLEANING" because Spring represents a time of year when we feel recharged, full of new life and fresh beginnings.  We have more energy to remove clutter from our lives, giving us a fresh start.


WHAT IS CLUTTER?

CLUTTER COMES IN MANY SHAPES AND SIZES.
Clutter can be debt, baggage from  a previous relationship, weight gain, the extra things you carry in your purse, health issues, or those stacks of papers scattered all over the kitchen counter. 

What does your clutter look like?

CLUTTER HAS A COST. 
Clutter steals your storage space and money, robs your time and energy, and takes away the peace and beauty in your mind and in your home. 

Is your clutter costing you too much?


CLUTTER IS DIRTY AND DISTRACTING.

The apostle Paul calls us to clean up the clutter in our lives
in  2 Corinthians 7:1 (CEB/MSG/ERV)

        …Let’s CLEANSE ourselves from anything that DEFILES or DISTRACTS us,
                  both in our BODY and in our SOUL. 
            Let’s make our entire LIVES FIT and HOLY temples for the WORSHIP of God.

What are you holding on to that needs to be removed?


CLUTTER EFFECTS ALL OF YOU: HEART, SOUL, MIND & BODY.

In Mark 12:30, Jesus tells us to:

Love the Lord your God with all your HEART, all your SOUL, all your MIND, and all your STRENGTH.

In order to love the Lord with all your HEART, you need to clean up the clutter in your HEART.
In order to love the Lord with all your SOUL, you need to clean up the clutter in your SOUL.

In order to love the Lord with all your MIND, you need to clean up the clutter in your MIND.

In order to love the Lord with all your STRENGTH, you need to clean up the clutter in your BODY.

Does your clutter take up too much room in your HEART, SOUL, MIND, or BODY?


CLUTTER REMOVAL OFTEN REQUIRES HELP.
In Luke 3:16-17 (MSG), it says:

         [Jesus] will ignite a fire, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out.
         He's going to CLEAN HOUSE—make a CLEAN SWEEP of your LIFE.
         He'll place everything true in its proper place before God...

Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to change you from the inside out?
